Dr Elizabeth Foglia
Dr. Elizabeth Foglia is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University Of Pennsylvania Perelman School Of Medicine. She is an academic neonatologist at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where she is the Director of Neonatal Resuscitation and Simulation.
Dr. Foglia received formal training in clinical epidemiology, with a focus on clinical trials. Her research aims to characterize the epidemiology of neonatal resuscitation, to improve monitoring and clinical performance during resuscitation, and to identify interventions to prevent mortality and long-term disability in high-risk infants who require resuscitation.
Dr. Foglia is member of the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Steering Committee and serves on the Pediatric Taskforce for the American Heart Association Get With the Guidelines- Resuscitation program. She is a neonatal content expert for the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR), which formulates treatment recommendations for neonatal resuscitation used globally.
Dr. Foglia is a Chief Investigator on the POLAR Trial and sits as a representative on both the Trial Executive Committee (TEC) and the Trial Steering Committee (TSC).
Dr. Foglia and her team at CHOP also serve as the Regional Lead for North American hospitals participating within the POLAR trial.
